Thank you for choosing us to deliver hands-on learning experience to your students! We are happy to answer any questions you have.

Teacher Planning

Trips run Monday-Wednesday or Wednesday-Friday from late February - May and September - December. Overnight Trip costs include lodging, meals, snacks, and all programming.

How do I pay? You will receive an invoice at the last meal of your trip, and will have 10 days to pay by check. Mail to 105 Delong Rd Nauvoo, AL 35578. Teachers are responsible for collecting payment from students and chaperones.

BOOKING: To learn more or book a trip, contact farmschooldirector@campmcdowell.org to find trip dates that work for you. Once confirmed, please complete and return the Reservation Contract to solidify your trip reservation.

  • We are discontinuing use of the PAPER version of our Medical Forms, and transitioning to Electronic Forms. The lead teacher will receive a link to the Electronic version, and will be responsible for sharing it out to chaperones and student guardians. We are so glad your student is joining us at McDowell Farm School! Our staff is ready to make your students feel comfortable at camp while encouraging them to explore, discover, and try new things at the farm! Lodging

Student & Chaperone Cabins: McDowell Farm School has 10 cabins with heating and air conditioning. All cabins are universally designed and accessible for everyone. Each cabin sleeps a total of 24 people in one open room, has individual showers and toilet stalls in the bathroom, and has a designated storm shelter. Participants need to bring towels, pillows, and bedding (sleeping bag or sheets/blankets). There must be at least one adult assigned to each cabin with students.

Teacher Lodging: Separate lodging may be requested for teachers who are not needed for cabin supervision. Teacher lodging has private rooms (2 full beds), private bathroom, and access to community kitchen and living room space. Bedding and towels provided in the teacher lodge only. Dining

Dining

Kid-friendly meals are prepared and served by our talented food service staff and served family-style in Doug dining hall. Certain times of the year, the dining hall incorporates fresh vegetables and eggs from McDowell Farm School.

Dietary Accommodations: All of our kitchens are nut-free. Vegetarian, Vegan, Dairy-Free, and Gluten Free (*not celiac-safe) dietary needs can be accommodated with advance notice on the Health Form. *Cross-contamination is possible. If you need to pack food to ensure your student’s safety, please contact farmschool@campmcdowell.org and we’ll get you more information!
